Kenduskeag Stream 2

6 x 6"  Oil on panel
I'm so fortunate to live near Bangor's Kenduskeag Stream. It's a haven of wonderful shapes and color all year long. This piece and it's companion in previous post were done en plein air, and focuses on the abstract shapes made by the rock formations and surrounding reflections.

Island a-glow

All a-glow   6 x 6" oil on panel    SOLD
I love painting islands, making up their shapes, colors, and the surrounding atmosphere. I'm sure there is something like this one somewhere off the coast of Maine.

A long view

The Long View - Corea  6 x 6" oil on panel  SOLD
At many coastal Maine locations, at low tide, one can walk to neighboring islands. This is one such place at Corea. I love this long view.

Patterns in the Rain

Patterns in the Rain   6 x 6"  oil on panel   SOLD
I came across this stand of trees during the recent weeks of nearly constant rain and drizzle. I loved the blue green muted foliage and the way the tree branches stood out against it, creating a beautiful organic pattern. This painting is the result of my memory of that image. I like the abstract quality grounded in representation.

In the Fog

Emerging  6 x 6"  Oil on panel  SOLD
It's been such a rainy foggy spring that it has reminded me of my week on Great Spruce Head Island two years ago where we were socked in for the entire week. I learned to appreciate the beauty of the fog that week. This painting is a memory of that time.
