The Other Side of the Road

The Other Side...Schoodic Peninsula,  Oil on panel, 6 x 6"  SOLD
On a trip to Schoodic last fall, I found myself drawn more to the colorful wooded side of the Shore Road than to the rocky ocean side. It was a very calm day so the usual wild crashing surf was subdued. I've also always loved the ledge cuts that wall the roadsides in Maine, and this one was laced with lichen. Contrasted with the bright red autumn bushes, I thought it was quite striking.

A Separate Peace Along the Benjamin River

A Separate Peace    6 x 6"  Oil on panel   SOLD
I frequently visit the Sedgwick/Brooklin area where I lived for 13 years. It brings back such lovely memories of raising my son in this rural coastal town on the Blue Hill peninsula.  On a visit this fall on an was overcast day, I was drawn to the peaceful stillness of these trees standing so near the edge of the Benjamin River, separate but together.
