Sand Bar to the Island

SOLD
Whenever I have a day when I'm not sure what to paint, I draw on my love and memories of islands. It's one of my favorite subjects as a Maine painter.

Cattails at City Forest

6 x 6" Oil on panel
One of the many fun places I painted this summer was Bangor City Forest.  What a treasure this is! I went with my painting friend Nancy and she introduced me to the Beaver Pond. That's where I painted these cattails.

Hancock Shore

6 x 6"  Oil on panel
Plein air on a misty morning in Hancock at low tide.

Kenduskeag Stream 2

6 x 6"  Oil on panel
I'm so fortunate to live near Bangor's Kenduskeag Stream. It's a haven of wonderful shapes and color all year long. This piece and it's companion in previous post were done en plein air, and focuses on the abstract shapes made by the rock formations and surrounding reflections.
