Nestled Cottage 2 - Monhegan

Even on those kind of hazy days, especially in the mornings, the Monhegan light is special. I loved the way this cottage was barely visible as we walked along the rocky edged path. One can only imagine the view from the place.

This little piece was done on site, en plein aire, while visiting Monhegan this summer. I can only imagine the spectacular view from their porch!

Seaside Lupine

A day of sketching at Sandy Point, Maine, resulted in this little gem which captured the hazy summer day and the last of the beloved lupine which grace the fields along the coast. I experimented a bit here with my medium, letting the colors drip into one another for a very different look.
