Oh, Schoodic

MORE SCHOODIC.....Late last summer, I spent the day at Schoodic Point, Maine... the day before Hurricane Irene hit New England. It was very foggy, but still incredibly beautiful and awe-inspiring. The Point offers sweeping views of the Atlantic, crashing surf, and miles of granite ledge. For someone who loves to paint rocks...it just doesn't get any better.

Sand Bar to the Island

SOLD
Whenever I have a day when I'm not sure what to paint, I draw on my love and memories of islands. It's one of my favorite subjects as a Maine painter.

Cattails at City Forest

6 x 6" Oil on panel
One of the many fun places I painted this summer was Bangor City Forest.  What a treasure this is! I went with my painting friend Nancy and she introduced me to the Beaver Pond. That's where I painted these cattails.

Hancock Shore

6 x 6"  Oil on panel
Plein air on a misty morning in Hancock at low tide.
